As part of Mental Health Week in Burgos, an event took place on 9th October 2025, bringing together professionals and families to discuss the link between autism and mental health
The event also served as an opportunity to promote the HeAlth Project by Dr. María Merino who presented a preview of its upcoming training materials to be released at the Multiplier event Health to be celebrated in January 2026
With 84 participants—including healthcare professionals, educators, families, and local stakeholders—the event highlighted the growing commitment to improving healthcare access for autistic individuals. Mental health dominated much of the day's comments and debates, highlighting the mental health issues prevalent in autism and the difficulties faced by people with autism in accessing quality healthcare. The HeAlth Project continues to gain momentum through collaboration across Spain, Serbia, Cyprus, and North Macedonia, developing evidence-based tools and training programs for more inclusive healthcare.
