On 22th January 2026, the University Hospital of Burgos (HUBU) hosted a presentation of the Project HeAlth, led by Autismo Burgos.
The event gathered 79 healthcare and social care professionals to exchange knowledge and advances, with a special focus on early detection, primary care, and service coordination. Key speakers included Dr. Fernando Vázquez (Deputy Medical Director and Neurologist at HUBU), Pilar Zorrilla (President of Autismo Burgos), and María Merino (Psychologist at Autismo Burgos and project representative).
Dr Lourdes Sipos, the psychiatrist expert speaker, from Gregorio Marañón Hospital, Madrid, presented the model and achievements of AMI-TEA Programme, a pioneer in comprehensive healthcare for people with autism.
Conchi Remírez de Ganuza, from Autismo Burgos, presented the HeAlth project and the online training platform for healthcare professionals, families and people with autism.
Paediatric neurologists V. Navarro and M. Hortiguela presented bbMiradas early detection program. Dr César Pérez, social and health coordinator for Primary Care Management in Burgos, highlighted the importance of community care models.
Finally, María Carmen García, a primary care nurse, presented the Protocol for the care of people with autism in primary care, and Carmelo Villafranca, Director of Nursing at HUBU, presented the ASI Programme for integrated healthcare provided by the Regional Government of Castille and León.
